In the next stage, Tamil morphological analysis is used to retrieve the lemma and morphological information. This chapter explains about the development of Tamil POS tagger system. The first step in preprocessing Tamil language sentence is to retrieve the Part-of-Speech information of each and every word. Preprocessing methods are used to convert Tamil language sentences into factored Tamil sentences. It is an extension of phrase-based statistical machine translation that allows the integration of additional morphological and lexical information, such as lemma, word class, gender, number, etc., at the word level on both source and the target languages. ![]()
